Komodo National Park is home to one of the richest marine biodiversities in Indonesia—and even in the world. It is undoubtedly one of the best diving destinations in the country.

Also known as the land of the legendary Komodo dragon, the park is located in the strait of the same name, at the confluence of the Indian Ocean and the Banda Sea.

In the north, you'll find some of the most stunning coral reefs on Earth, with an incredible diversity of hard and soft corals, schools of anthias, wrasses, angelfish, and many predators—reef sharks, tunas, and giant trevallies.

In the south, the scenery changes: soft corals dominate, bursting with vibrant colors and rich macro life, along with the majestic manta rays. The water is cooler here, dropping to around 23°C (73°F) in July and August.

Komodo offers an exceptional variety of dive experiences: pelagic dives with sharks in strong currents, gentle drifts, colorful wall dives, monumental boulders, seamounts, pinnacles, sandy slopes, and macro dives. You might also encounter manta rays, turtles, and—if you're lucky—whale sharks and leopard rays.

For many divers, only Raja Ampat can rival the beauty of Komodo, considered by many the holy grail of diving in Indonesia.
